The History

The Old Post Office was built in 1910, paid for by the Mackesons (a wealthy local brewing family, whose family vault can be found at St Leonards Church for those who’d like to explore!). This is when it began its journey as the Hythe Post Office. It was used for money orders, telegraph/telephone exchange and as a public call office. You’ll find many original artefacts around the interior, just to remind you that it wasn’t always providing luxury accommodation in Hythe!

Hythe. This is a quaint coastal town steeped in history.  There are many organised tours and excursions available throughout the year for any of you who may wish to discover more about the local area and Jamie and Anne Marie will be more than happy to point you in the right direction. “The room was spotlessly clean and the huge king size, comfortable bed was wonderful, with plentiful wardrobe and drawer space. I enjoyed the whole month so much that intend to return for the Christmas holidays.

“Such a great place to stay in Hythe and Jamie & Anne Marie are so lovely, they offered great tips on things to do. The room was a pleasure to come back to, so bright and spacious. Would definitley recommend the loft suite!”
